IAMSL has been providing consultancy services to a number of New Zealand Power companies for more than 12 years. Over the years, IAMSL has carried out inspection and trial projects in Australia, USA and the Middle East.
IAMSL are the developers of the Polescan wood pole inspection tool and the Line Structure Engineering (LSE) software that enables our team of Inspectors and Line Technicians to carry out analysis and designs on a variety of structure types on any network. Our line design and analysis systems comply with the latest Australian and NZ overhead line design Standards: AS/NZ 4676 – AS/NZ 7000 – HB C(b)1 Guidelines for Distribution & Transmission Lines.
Polescan in a non-destructive pole inspection system designed to evaluate the condition on wooden utility pole using ultrasound technology whereby results can be presented onsite. The Polescan system has tested more than 100,000 wood poles in New Zealand and a number of other countries and still continues to be a proven method of wood pole inspection that provides accurate results, enabling networks to understand the state of their wooden pole population.
Line Structure Engineering (LSE) software is a structural engineering application that complements the skills of designers but maximizes compliance with Australian and New Zealand standards. It provides accurate designs, and minimizes risks of liability and over engineering. LSE is based on limited state modeling. LSE can be used for wooden, concrete, steel and composite poles.
Composite Utility Poles – IAMSL has access to the supply of composite utility poles that are lightweight, durable with exceptional strength that allows contractors to install these poles in areas of difficult access that might not be suitable for other heavier poles. These poles can be used in any other normal circumstances also. IAMSL can also supply the Line Design Drawings on the correct strength and type of Composite Utility Pole to be used. Composite cross-arms can also be supplied.
