A common problem facing a home owner and their electrician is the retrofitting of a two-way switch, when an extra switch is required to control an existing light. This is usually because, after a house is completed, it is near impossible to run new wires to the new location where the additional switch is required. It could be a concrete block wall, a Lockwood type home or simply because it not practical to remove and replace the plasterboard. The typical “wired” options are either expensive, time consuming and/or unsightly if surface mount trunking is the used.
Coco wireless controls offer a range of easily installed/retrofitted products to make two-way switching easy. There is typically no additional wiring required. The receiver is installed behind the existing switch, still allowing it to operate as normal. (The receivers are suitable for a variety of loads including LED & CFL. They can be either on/off or dimming as required.) The transmitter is then installed at the desired location. (Within 30m) There are transmitter options that are surface mount as well as models which can be installed behind any brand of switch to ensure it matches with the existing products used.
